NDSA have asked if the Port Authority would consider installing a webcam on the East Pier so that their members can assess the sea state before venturing to the coast. AB reinforced the request and added it could be good for the town’s business if people see on the webcam it is good weather and come to Newhaven for the day. DCW said that it has been discussed and to the extent that NPP and the town council may carry out a joint project so that the images could be seen on both websites. DCW did ask the group to consider where would be the best location for the camera and suggested the West Pier or the NCI Lookout may be better locations. Since the meeting, AA has said that cameras were installed on the Lookout, donated by the Hang Gliding Club, but due to problems they were never connected to the NCI website. AA is hoping to now get things moving again. AB has made contact with AA to discuss further. Perhaps it is possible to link the webcams into all 3 websites ?
